He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Rider and Mattie Rider; his wife Mildred J. Rider; his son Michael Rider; and his brothers, Paul, John and Willard Rider.

He is survived by: his children, Gary Rider of Farmington, MO, Barbara Ann Schwenk (Gary) of Vallejo, CA, Danny Rider (Barbara) of Apache Junction, AZ, William Rider (Carolyn) of De Soto, MO, Allen Rider of San Diego, CA and Phillip Rider of De Soto, MO; and his sister Norma Jean McFarland (Ralph) of Festus, MO. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
