It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Marler-Schmitt (De Soto, Missouri), born in Rogersville, Alabama, who passed away on July 28, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clayton Charlie Bates and Effie Gertrude Dismukes; her former husband Radie L. Marler; her son-in-law Mike Beaman; her brother Deral Bates; her grandson Roger; and her stepfather J. D. Dismukes.
She is survived by: her children, Rhonda Alexander (Tom) of Festus, MO, Roger Marler of Bonne Terre, MO, Patricia Beaman of Festus, MO and Denise McMullin of Festus, MO; her sister Gail Guilfoyle (Mike); her grandchildren, Keith, David, Brian, Kirstie, Sharon, Carolyn, Michelle, Melissa, Angela and Christina; and her husband Fred Schmitt (family: Gene Schmitt, Freddie Schmitt, Chris Schmitt, Samantha Schmitt) of Festus, MO. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
