He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde William Nickelson and May Ellen Nickelson; his parents-in-law, William Andrew Arterburn, Dovie May Jennings (Emmett) and Vickers; his siblings, Juanita Smith, William "Boots" Nickelson, Lloyd Nickelson and Bernice Minx (Don); and his brother-in-law Ferd Metzler.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jean Arterburn; his children, Paula Herrell (Tucker) of Cuba, MO, Alan Nickelson of Cuba, MO and Andrew Nickelson (Brandy Shelton) of Cuba, MO; his grandchildren, Christopher Herrell (Stephanie) of Trenton, MI, Corey Herrell (Casi) of Steelville, MO, Cameron "Peyton" Herrell (Garrett) of Royal Oak, MI, Kile Nickelson of Washington, MO, Josh Pilkenton (Jenni) of Cuba, MO, Megan Henke of Cuba, MO, Ellyn Nickelson of Cuba, MO and River Nickelson of Cuba, MO; his great grandchildren, Brody, Blaine, Brielle, Gabriella, Wyatt, Lexi, Cameron, Cash, Chantz, Liana and Zalyn; his sisters, Lavita Metzler of St. Charles, MO and Patti Bryant of Blackwell, MO; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Nickelson of Fletcher, MO, Ruth Purdue (John) of Seaford, DE and Earl Arterburn (Donna) of Seneca, SC. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Amazing Grace Church (4315 MO-19, Cuba, MO 65453). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at the Lick Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Deer Creek Church or Amazing Grace Church.
