With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lonnie J. Cape of Cuba, Missouri, born in Moberly, Missouri, who passed away on November 6, 2024 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fay Elsberry and Don Elsberry; her parents-in-law, James and Margaret Cape; her daughter Karren Hill (David); and her brother-in-law James "Jim" Cape (Darlene).
She is survived by: her husband Jerry J. Cape of Cuba, MO; her children, Dr. Darren Heaton (DeeAnn) of Cuba, MO, Marsha Light (Charlie) of Rolla, MO, Michael Cape (Julia) of Rolla, MO, Pat Doyle (Dan) of Holton, KS and Ed Cape of Auburn, KS; her grandchildren, Hannah Shaw (Cody) of Vichy, MO, Tyler Heaton (Haley) of Kansas City, MO, Summer Stoner (Paul), Nicole Bell (James), Michael Light (Jeryl), Joshua Cape, Stephan Copple (Ashley), Andrew Copple, Nathan Doyle (Katie), Caleb Doyle (Brooke), Ben Doyle (Sara), Morgan Cape and Audrey Cape; and her great grandchild Wyatt Shaw. She is also survived by 9 great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Living Word Church (19 Steuber Rd, Leasburg, MO 65535). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at the Meramec Hills Cemetery (4243 State Hwy ZZ, Cuba, MO 65453).
