He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolphus Carter and Hazel Carter (Williams); and his granddaughter Kaytlyn Whitford. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Carter (Land); his daughter Stacy Atchley (Brian) of St. Louis; his stepson Brian Whitford (Deanna) of O'Fallon, MO; his brother Mike Clippard; and his grandchildren, Ethan, Sophia, Carter Atchley, Kaleb Whitford, Troya Valdespino (Cody O'Brien) and Alexis Valdespino of St. Louis.
