He is survived by: his children, David Henson (Amy) of Richland, Missouri and Melinda Carpenter of Swedeborg, Missouri; his grandchildren, Marissa Henson, Gunner Henson, Lundon Henson, Leroy Carpenter, Wyatt Carpenter and Josie Carpenter; his close friend Pam Rout of Crocker, Missouri.; and his siblings, Melvin Henson of St. Louis, Shirley Steward of Richland, Millie Shell of Richland, Donald (Maxine Henson), Rhonda (Jim Hughes) and Claudine (Butch Wilson).
