He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Henson Pentecost of Crocker; his parents, Ely B. Pentecost and Vesta Karr Pentecost; his sons-in-law, Cecil Becker, William "Bill" Shock and Tim McCullah; and his siblings, Carl A. Pentecost, Evelyn Nelson and Jimmie Pentecost.
He is survived by: his children, Dorothy Kay Becker, Charlotte Ann Shock, Carol Jean McCullah, Carl Ray (Lorien) and Charlie Jr. (Sherri). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and by a host of relatives and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Elvis in a special way may make donations in his memory to The Greater Springfield Area Fellowship of Christian Athletes at 2316 N. Benton Ave., Springfield, Missouri 65803 or to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
