He is survived by: his daughters, Dara Merritt (Steve) of Aurora and Annett Lyon (Dean) of Crane; his grandchildren, Clayton, Jesse Merritt, Austin and Mica Alexander; and his great grandchildren, Cadence, Jeston, Wyatt Merritt, Cainan Alexander, Lucas Hensley, Sylas, Marcus Strickrodt and Zayne Smith. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
