It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Martha Lee Straker Assel of Cowgill, Missouri, born in Lock Springs, Missouri, who passed away on July 10, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold L. Kilburn and Anna Grace Kilburn (Hicks). She is survived by: her former spouse Winton Straker; her husband James Assel; her children, Valerie Davis (Tim), Randall Straker (Sammy), Lanna Wing (Jeff) of Buffalo, WY., Doug Assel (Juanita) of Dawn, MO., Sally Jackson (Mark) of Platte City, MO., Randy Assel and Kevin Assel (Sandra) of Kingston, MO.; and her sisters, Ruth Ann Thompson (Howard) of Hamilton and Velma Ward of Hamilton. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Kingston Church of the Nazarene.
