He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin and Mollie; and his wife Elaine. He is survived by: his sons, Todd Martens (Mary), Kevin Martens (Janine) and Gary Martens (Marlene); his grandchildren, Colleen Murray (Mark), Jamie, Haley, Alaina, Caden, Elise Martens, Kristine Holland and Jesse Martens; and his great grandchildren, Abbie, Jordyn and Caleb.

Memorial donations are preferred to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Blessed Savior Lutheran Church.
