He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Held and Ruth Landwehr Held; and his son-in-law Rickey Lawson. He is survived by: his wife Mary Frances Schnakenberg; his daughters, Angela Harger (Gary) of Higginsville and Amy Raney of Corder; his grandson Dillyn Raney; his stepgrandchildren, Brittany Harris (Zach), Rachelle Snyder (Tristan), Nathan Harger and Seth Harger; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Gavin Lawson and Natalia Snyder; his sisters, Mary Ann Mock and Judy Heimsoth; and his children, LeAnne McGinness, Betty Jacobsen and Kenton Raney. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Lafayette County Cancer Coalition or Harvey Higgins Society in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia.
