He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvis McKnight and Flora McKnight (Whiteid); his wife Evelyn McKnight; his son Randy McKnight; his brother Jay Frank McKnight; and his brothers-in-law, Gene Maples and Raymond Bowling.
He is survived by: his children, Rick McKnight of Warsaw, MO, Angela Banks (Scott Bass) of Raymore, MO and Deborah Graham-Lewis (Wallace Lewis) of Ada, OK; his stepchildren, Mark Frerking (Temple) of Highland, MO, Daniel Frerking (Laura) of Concordia, MO and Stephanie Bittiker (Tyron Williams) of Cayce, SC; his sisters, Joyce Maples of Galena, MO and Anita Bowling of Crane, MO; and his sister-in-law Nilene McKnight of Crane, MO.. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren that greatly loved and adored him, along with nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to family choice and will be used to establish a scholarship fund in Joe's memory for graduating high school seniors.
