He was loved and cherished by many people including: his former wife Teresa Purvis; his wife Terri Goebel; his mother Linda Emerson; his daughters, Mandy Rae Eckerle (Jason) and Tera Eckerle (Alec Nelsen); his sisters, Mendy Diel (Brian) and Abigail Eckerle (Jeremy Schultz); his grandsons, Aiden Mitchell Smith and Jace Allen Ruleman; his nieces and nephews, Haley Davis (Brock), Madison Diel, Waverly Eckerle-Schultz and Emerson Eckerle-Schultz; his father Larry "Lee" Eckerle; his aunt Mary Ellen Jennings; his uncles, Jim Eckerle and Don Eckerle; and his cousin Kim James (Eckerle).

Memorial donations in his honor may be made to Missouri Department of Conservation Youth Hunting & Fishing Program.
