She was predeceased by: her parents, Everett Smith and Deana Smith (Semon); and her sister Joyce Leaton. She is survived by: her children, Jessica Laguna Guzman of Columbia and Jeremy Backus of Columbia; her grandsons, Juan Sebastien Garcia Hernandez and Jaxon Backus; and her siblings, Robin Scruggs (Curtis) of Columbia and Kevin Smith (Frances) of Centralia. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
