He was predeceased by: his parents, George Edwin Garrett and Ellen Mae Karman (Braden); his brother Joseph Edwin Garrett Karman; his parents-in-law, Erwin and Lorena Viets; and his sister-in-law Elaine Viets.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann Karman; his sons, Brian Karman (Deanna) of Liberty and Justin Karman (Meghan) of Warrensburg; his siblings, Charlene Holtzen (Don) of Cole Camp and Eugene Lewis Karman (Ellen) of Cole Camp; his brothers-in-law, Gary Viets (Renee) of Cole Camp and Ronnie Viets (Kathy) of Cole Camp; his grandchildren, Kody, Blake, Katelyn, Kylie and Bailey; and his great grandchild Josalynn.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to Lutheran School Association in care of the Fox Funeral Home, PO Box 37, Cole Camp, MO 65325.
