He was predeceased by: his parent Ida Mills-Harper; his stepfather Simon Harper; his son David Mills; his half-brothers, Larry Harper and Gary Harper; and his stepdaughter Cristie Sprock.
He is survived by: his former wife Connie Eckenfels; his wife Linda Mills; his children, Joyce Watts (Gary Jackson), Linda Cunnington (Ray Minatani) and Robert Mills of Odessa; his stepchildren, Tim Foreman of Auxvasse, Mark Foreman of Cole Camp, Renee Farris of Cole Camp, Jasmine Farmer of Cole Camp, Jocelyn Farmer of Versailles, Jillian Farmer of Cole Camp and Juliet Farmer of Cole Camp; his half-siblings, Linda Bauhaus of Clinton and Donald Harper of St. Louis; and his grandchildren, Richard, David, Danielle, Dara, Donald, Steven, Robert Jr., Karolyn and David Jr.. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
