He was predeceased by: his mother Ruth Pearson (Kallio); his wife Charlotte Prall; his children, Jacqueline Paxton Cockrum and Sture Frederick "Freddie" Pearson; and his siblings, Irene Bauer, Eillen Pearson, Laura Pearson and Ray Pearson.

He is survived by: his father Sture Pearson; and his children, Gary Paxton of Clinton, Dianne Pearson-Looney of Hurst, TX, Catherine Pearson of Clinton and Pam Cecil of Clinton. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.
