He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben Thomas and Velma Thomas (Gregory); his former wife Leona May Stoneking; his wife Elizabeth Christine Smith; his stepdaughter Connie Duensing; and his half-brother Robert Thornsburg.
He is survived by: his children, Dale E. Thomas (Fran), Linda F. Venable, Clinton and J. Stephen Thomas (Caralee); his grandchildren, Randy Thomas, Christinia Howerton, Michele Butler, Danny Venable, Stephanie Thomas and Brian Thomas; and his stepgrandchildren, Chance Duensing and Carlye Houk. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-grandchildren.
