He was predeceased by: his wife Bernice; his siblings, Carl, James, Raymond, Virginia, Wilma and Barbara; and his grandson James (Bubba).

He is survived by: his siblings, Arthur Bedford, Clarence Bedford and Lois Jennings; and his son James Bedford. He is also survived by six grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren.
