He was predeceased by: his siblings, Earl, Bob (Jorene) and Juanita Bowden; his granddaughter Abbey Felton; his son-in-law Tim Felton; his nephew Johnny Thomas; and his parents-in-law, Roscoe Cave, Charlene Cave Pippin and Dewey Pippin.

He is survived by: his wife Verba Lou Cave; his children, Doug Thomas (Dawna Miller), Dannie Thomas (Brenda) of Billings, Dottie Felton and Dana Hull (David); his grandchildren, Annie, Austin, Josh, Lexie, Kayla, Chase and Johnathan; his great grandchildren, James and Josie; his sisters, Irene Roth, Ruth Brooks and Carol Cobb (Tom); his sisters-in-law, Carol Deane Thomas and Ginny Wray (Jim); and his close friend Rocky Klineline.
