He was predeceased by: his parents, A. V. "Bud" Engel and Lorene Engel; his sister Gwen Engel; and his niece Lindsey Donegan. He is survived by: his wife Katherine "Lovelle" Engel (McGoveran); his son Jeff Engel (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Tristan and Savanah "Savi" Engel; his siblings, Connie Hutchins (Tom), Brenda Donegan (Bob) and Shayne Engel; his nieces, Stephanie Lee, Emily Brown and Carly Engel; and his nephew Shawn Bussard.
