He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis H. Schmidt and Geneva R. Schmidt (Wiser); his sister-in-law Glenda Schmidt; his nephew Manix Schmidt; and his niece Stacey Hagerman.
He is survived by: his wife Betsy (Knipp); his daughters, Jennifer Riggs (Dave) of Jefferson City and Kelly Fisher (Ryan) of St. Joseph; his grandchildren, Dalton Riggs, Dillon Riggs, Samuel Fisher, Sidney Fisher and Ian Fisher; and his brothers, Gary Schmidt, Darrell Schmidt (Virginia), Danny Schmidt (Carolyn), Charlie Schmidt and Bobby Schmidt (Bev). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to Fortuna United Methodist Church, or to charity of the donor's choice.
