It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ruth Elaine Wood of Clarence, Missouri, born in Shelbyville, Missouri, who passed away on March 5, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Hasten and Lorraine Ila Erdwins Hutton; her husband John William Wood; her sister Joan Taylor; and her siblings-in-law, Jill Durbin, Judy Mattingly, Gary Durbin, Dale Chittum and Cal Taylor.
She is survived by: her daughters, Angie Mefford (Terry) of Clarence, Beverly Burns (Steve) of Anabel and Trudy McManus (Walt) of Columbia, Missouri; her grandchildren, Kyley Mefford (Sarah), Matt Mefford (Tara), Betsy Sluhan (Andy), Will Mefford (Courtney), Wes Mefford (Kaytlyn), Hayden Burns, Preston Burns, Jordan McManus and Jonathan McManus; her siblings, Barbara Chittum of Columbia, MO and Wayne Hutton (Betty) of Clarence, MO; and her siblings-in-law, Chuck Wood (Martha) and Jan Smith. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the Clarence United Methodist Church or Clarence Care Center.
