He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmo Gordon and Melva Lucille Burton (Seek); his former wife Betty Lou Shobe; his wife Bernita Faye Frizzell; his siblings, Jewell Elmo Burton, Harry Vernon Burton, Everett Roscoe Burton and Annielee Grace Williams; and his daughter-in-law Cindy Burton.
He is survived by: his children, Penny Sue McCracken (Melvin) of Chillicothe, Debby Lynn Bush (Timothy) of Bogard, Richard Elmo Burton of Chillicothe, Tessie Lynn Gutierrez (Cain) of Marshall and Ashlee Marie Tobar (Jorge) of Marshall. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
