It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laverna Williams of Chillicothe, Missouri, born in Carrollton, Missouri, who passed away on May 27, 2021, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Calvin Douglas Sr. and Elvenia Carter Douglas; her husband James 'Lester Williams; her brothers, Calvin Douglas Jr. and Versailles Douglas; and her son Don Lester Williams.
She is survived by: her sister Ruth Shaw of Chillicothe, MO; her grandchildren, Shari Frazier of Lee's Summit, MO, Dawn Williams of Laurel, MD, LaTonya Williams of Cotton Plant, AR, Leslie Williams of Kansas City, MO and Marc Smith of Lee's Summit, MO; her daughters-in-law, Linda Williams of Kansas City, MO and Wanda Williams of Kansas City, MO; and her close friend Rosaline Williams. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
