He was predeceased by: his parents, E. B. "Pappy" and Reba Spence Barnes. He is survived by: his former spouse Cinthia Gail Lightfoot; his children, Dana Lynn Barnes of Chillicothe and Steven James Barnes of Chillicothe; his wife Sharon Ballantyne; his siblings, Joe (Sue) of Monett, John (Julie) of Chillicothe, Mike (Cindy) of Franklin, IL, Birdie Ann Kieffer (Bill) of Chillicothe and Penny Chauvin (Ben) of League City, TX.; his aunt Dorothy Sutton (Bill) of Chillicothe; and his brother-in-law Dale Lightfoot (Diana) of Hale. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Forrest O. Triplett Memorial Animal Shelter in Chillicothe.
