He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Kays and Olive Merritt Kays; and his sister June. He is survived by: his son Johnny; his stepson-in-law Neal Pitcher; his wife Wanda Kays; his daughter Monique Leonard (Tony); his grandson Anthony; and his stepdaughters, Terry Fitzgerald (Pat), Susan Ward (Chris) and Laurie Pitcher.
