He was predeceased by: his son-in-law John McCluer. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Vennessa Petermen, Jessica Mora, Alyssa Bayne and Katie McCluer; his great grandchild Lanaea Petermen; and his brother Tom Burge, Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
