The memory of Bertha Short of Chilhowee, Missouri, who passed away on October 7, 2024 at the age of 70, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parent Peggy Elliott (Bates); her stepfather Frank Elliott; and her sister Helen Snyder. She is survived by: her husband Jerry Short; her stepchildren, Tonia Bacon (Kevin), Stephen Short (Cindi) and Michele McCawley (Tim); her siblings, Kathryn Harrelson (Charles Poisson), Bruce Bates, Kelly Bates, Shirley Gowin and Robert Elliott (Linda Rice); and her brother-in-law Tom Biles. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 10th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Williams Funeral Chapel (1400 S Maguire St, Warrensburg, MO 64093). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 10th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, October 10th 2024 at the Pisgah Cemetery (581 SW 800th Rd, Chilhowee, MO 64733).
