She was predeceased by: her husband Virgil H. Bates; and her siblings, Kurt Jung, Michael Jung and Lotte Rauchenberger. She is survived by: her children, Helene Jung Reed (Marty Zygmund), David Bates, Debbie Ban (Tony) and Claus Jauernig (Brigitte); her grandchildren, Shannon Danielle Reed (William Masters), Natalie Marie Reed (Jesse Deutman), Thalia Bates, Haley Bates, Patrick Jauering and Denise Jaureing; her great grandchildren, Devin Reed, Reed Thomas Deutman and Roman Bates; and her siblings, Betti Herbst (late Hans) and Hermine Zethmeier.
