He was predeceased by: his parent Marie Meyer; and his son Douglas. He is survived by: his parent Paul Poetz; his sibling Rita Haislar (Irv); his wife Mary Jean Poetz; and his children, Lisa, Paul, Teresa, Amy, Alexandria, Devin and Ashley.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to A.T. Still University in Kirksville MO where Dr. Poetz received his medical education.
