He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Erna Mae (Ernie); his children, Michael (Denise) and Tracy Whorton (Abby); his grandchildren, Erin Whorton, Shana Colt (Rian) and Ryan Whorton; his great grandchild Mason Colt; his sister Bonnie Pettit; and his parents, Samuel Whorton and Viola Whorton.
