She is survived by: her children, Steven Alexander, Sandra Alexander (Charlotte) and Matt Alexander (Tina); and her granddaughters, Kayla, Lucille, Eleanor and Cecilia.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Rita's memory to the Saint Louis County Humane Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
