It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Pius Ottiger (Chesterfield, Missouri), who passed away on September 29, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Isidor Ottiger and Kresentia Ottiger-Ruttimann; and his brothers, Isidor and Leo. He is survived by: his wife Sandra; his daughters, Dominique Dolly (Colby) and Natalie Hammond (Christopher); his grandchildren, Cayla, Peyton, Jacqueline and Daniel; and his siblings, Peter, Josef, Stefan, Jacob, Lisbeth and Rita.

Memorial contributions may be made in Philip's honor to The Lake County Colorado Search and Rescue Organization (http://www.lakecountysar.org). In honor of those who tried to save him on Mount Elbert, donations can be made to Burnside Christian Church, c/o Mark Nichols, 803 Main Street, Carthage, Illinois 62321.

“Dear mourning family The news of Pius' death surprised and saddened us all. When Pius still lived in Switzerland, he often liked to visit us on the farm. He was always cheerful, upbeat and charming.
