She was predeceased by: her parent Dorothy Timmons; and her former husband Harry T. Bussmann Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Timothy Balakas; her daughters, Catherine Bussmann of Chesterfield and Kristin Bussmann of Proctor, Arkansas; her stepdaughters, Kristen West of O'Fallon and Katie Wilson (Mike) of Webster Groves; and her siblings, Thomas Timmons of New Hampshire, Michael Timmons of Illinois and Marsha Purvis (Dale) of Florida. She is also survived by 12 step-grandchildren.
Some of her favorite things were reading, traveling and attending charity parties.
