He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Church; his spouse Pat "Hoppi" Hoepfner; his children, Patti Bitter (Michael), Kathi Fanning (late Steve), Norma Massmann (Jim) and Mary Helen Hepler (Larry); his grandchildren, Laura Evans, Brian Elfrink (Maria), Tracy Frank (Evan Meiners), Adam Bitter (Heather), Claire Slama (Brandon), Mary Ware (Matt), Steven Fanning (Sarah), Scott Fanning (Denise), Kaitlin Bustraan (Phil), Kara Poepping, Michael Poepping (Kinsley), Ben Massmann (Rebekah), Nick Massmann (Stephanie), Chris Massmann (Heather), Lindsay Weber (Drew) and Nick Hepler (Ivy); his great grandchildren, Lucy, Maddoc, Zoey, Hadleigh, Sadie, Gracie, Annie, Cora, Jack, Jeremiah, Eva, Clara, Colin, Haleigh, Ray, Hayley, Emma, Leah, Carly, Callan, Judah, Joshua, Elena, Elijah, Michael, Jenna and Joey; and his brother Ted Hoepfner.
