He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth Elaine McKee (McKee); his parents, Homer Mavis and Jenny Mavis (Frasher); and his brother Homer Mavis, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Douglas James Mavis of Webster Groves and Janet Mavis Sanders (Gary) of Moraga, CA; and his grandsons, Brian James Sanders (Hailey Jenson) of Dallas, TX, Clay Michael Sanders of Oakland, CA and Evan Daniel Sanders of Moraga, CA..
