He is survived by: his spouse Shannan Hart; his children, Richard Gillespie, Jr. of Charleston and Brianna Gillespie of Charleston; his siblings, Marvin L. Gillespie (Gloria), Delmar L. Gillespie (Angela), Dennis Gillespie (Stacy), Leonard S. Gillespie (Christy) of Charleston, Lydia M. Gillespie of Sikeston, Velma L. Gillespie of Wylie and Valarie Gillespie Rodgers (Andrew) of Columbus; and his parent-in-law John. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
