She was predeceased by: her grandson Dustin Cates; and her siblings, Oscar McMillen, Willie McMillen, Bob McMillen, Jethel McMillen, Grady McMillen, Tom McMillen, J. C. McMillen, James McMillen, Lula Mae McMillen, Ruby Nell Finley, Geneva Vail, Edna Huey, Reva Switzer and Dorothy Patrick.
She is survived by: her husband James Earl Cates, Sr.; and her sons, James Earl Cates, Jr. (Evelyn) of Edgar Springs, MO and Lee Cates (Debbie) of Richwoods, MO. She is also survived by four grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
