He was predeceased by: his mother Christine Mays Brown; his grandparents, Lela Mays and Amos; his aunts and uncles, Jerry Mays, James Mays, Ruby Jones and Mildred Powell; his brother-in-law Lionel Crenshaw; and his nephew Lil Jerry.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Farris; his daughters, Talisha M. Mays of Charleston, Jessica R. Mays of Charleston, Jennise L. Mays of Jonesboro and Georgia; his siblings, Dornell Brown of St. Louis, Maurice Brown of St. Louis, Steve Brown (Karen) of St. Louis, Jerry Brown of St. Louis, Linda Crenshaw of Charleston, Clarice Marshall (Charles) of St. Louis, Carolyn Johnson (Vernon) of St. Louis and Robin Smith (Travis) of Wilson; his grandchild Miracle B. Mays; his uncle Albert; and his aunt Jewel Williams. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
