He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Betts and Mattie Johnson Betts; his son Herbert Betts; and his siblings, Luke, William, Frank, Herman, Robert, Calvin Betts, Lula Mae Betts, Miriam Foster and Florene Young.
He is survived by: his children, Flora Clemons (John) of Cape Girardeau, MO, Marilyn Fields of Kansas City, KS, Prisus Betts, Mary Bates (Tom) of Logansport, IN, Donald Betts, Dinita Grady (Rex) of Walton, IN, James Betts of Cape Girardeau, MO, Gloria Hayes (Darian) of Warrenton, VA, Dale Betts of Indianapolis, IN, Sherman Betts of Cape Girardeau, MO and Bruce Betts (Sharon) of Jackson, MO; and his siblings, Johnny Betts (Dorothy) of Kansas City, MO, Carrie Milo, Manie McElory of Kansas City, MO and Minnie Betts of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives.
