Fern Eaton Smith Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Fern Eaton Smith of Charleston, Missouri, born in Knobel, Arkansas, who passed away on March 8, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil S. Eaton Sr. and Julia Alphin Eaton; her husband Elmer G. Smith; and her brothers, Hovie W. Eaton, Cecil Sylvester "Junior" Eaton, Jr., Basil G. Eaton and William Henry "Bill" Eaton.
She is survived by: her children, Debra Quertermous (Kenny) of Citrus Springs, FL, Vici Smith of Charleston, Tom Smith (Melody) of Valencia, CA, Jerry Smith (Maren) of Walnut Creek, CA and Janet Smith of Oak Cliff, TX; her grandchildren, Tyler Quertermous, Lance Quertermous (Sonya), Adam Smith and Kyle Smith (Kristin MacDonnell); and her great grandchildren, Maxwell, Evan Quertermous, River and Jude Smith. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the McMikle Funeral Home (201 S Center St, Charleston, MO 63834).
In lieu of flowers, plants and gift items, the family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 442, Charleston, MO 63834.
