He was predeceased by: his parents, E. Riley Brown, Sr. and Judith Wilkinson Brown; his wife Karen Ellis Brown; his son Kevin Ellis Brown (Karen); and his brothers, E. Riley Brown, Jr., John Brown and Ferdinand Jackson Brown.
He is survived by: his sons, Chris Brown (Robyn) of Charleston and Dick W. "Dee" Brown, II of Charleston; and his sister Becky Brown Foley of Los Angeles, CA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins.
