She was predeceased by: her father Joseph Eugene; her spouse H. L. Layman; and her sister Jean Menz. She is survived by: her brothers, Melvin Essner (Pat) of Scott City and Alfred Essner (Frances) of Bloomsdale; her nephews, Steve Essner (Donna) of Scott, Danny Essner of Scott City, Doug Menz (Ann) of New Hamburg and Daren Essner (Carrie) of Chaffee; and her niece Cindy Riggs (Brad) of Scott City. She is also survived by 13 great nieces and nephews and 13 great great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association or American Diabetes Association.
