He was predeceased by: his parents, George H. Smith and Nellie M. Schreiner Smith; his sons, Robert Smith and Jeffrey Smith; and his grandsons, Aaron Sadler and B. J. Smith.
He is survived by: his daughter Cindy Sadler (Albert) of Jackson; his siblings, Laura Jo Smith of Jackson, Kim Martin of Jackson and Mark Smith of St. Charles, Missouri; his pet Lady; and his stepchildren, Kevin Miller (Brenda) of Chaffee, Sheila Gilmer (Gary) of Devine, Texas, Connie Smith (Jim) of Moro, Illinois and Darlene Kelley (Gary) of Delta. He is also survived by six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion and best friend.
