He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett Sanders and Betty Davis Sanders (Mize); his siblings, Dennis Sanders, Donald Ray Sanders, Una Mae Wright, Anna Mae Groves and Betty Jean Smith; and his half-sisters, Martha Perl Davis and Alda Anna Mae Verwers.

He is survived by: his wife Sandy Spene; and his siblings-in-law, Carol McKenzie (Carl) of Hartsburg and Kevin Spene (Darla) of Columbia. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Mt. Airy Baptist Church, or the charity of the donor's choice and may be sent in care of Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home 104 S. Collier, Centralia, MO 65240.
