James Stevens Obituary

James Stevens, 76 of Centralia died Saturday, November 27, 2021 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 3, 2021 at Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home in Centralia. Burial with full military honors will follow the service in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville at 1:00 PM.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Jim was born on December 12, 1944 in Ft. Collins, CO the son of Oscar and Minnie Louise (Switzer) Stevens.

James served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Jim married the love of his life, Alma Hemphill, and she survives of the home.

Along with his wife, Alma, Jim is survived by his sisters, Mary Umentum (Dan) of Green Bay, WI, Corina Strecker (David) of Centralia; several nieces and nephews in Missouri and Wisconsin; and special friends, Marilyn Keen, Charlie and Betty Harvey, and Marge Young.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, David, Walter and Homer Stevens, and sister, Chloe King.

Jim was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Mexico.

Jim loved to decorate his home and yard for Christmas. He loved God, his church and he was a very faithful Christian.

Memorial donations are suggested to the First Assembly of God Church in Mexico, and may be sent in care of Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home 104 S. Collier St. Centralia, MO 65240.
