Amos Pogue Obituary
Amos "Cotton" Pogue, son of the late Obia Pogue and Bethar Barnes, was born in Redford, Missouri, on March 27, 1933. He departed this life at his residence in Centerville, Missouri, on July 24, 2020, at the age of 87. Cotton was a Veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming. Cotton's greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Cotton was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Lucy Elizabeth "Beth" Goggin, seven brothers, Joe, Bob, Euel, Eugene, Doyle, Dean and James Pogue, one sister, Toots Amsden, and three sons-in-law, Bill Wilson, Lou Walker, and Terry Dickmann. Cotton is survived by four daughters, Bernice Tullock and husband John of Desoto, Missouri, Marcia Wilson of Festus, Missouri, Theresa Walker of St. Louis, Missouri, and Tracie Plopper and husband Kenny of St. Louis, Missouri, 9 grandchildren, Michael (Jamie), Cassidy, Jennifer (Mark), Julie, Sarah (Chris), Billy, Jacob, Vanessa (Mike), and Melanie (Mike) and 14 great-grandchildren, Emma, Sophie, Jasmin, Joshua, Tristan, Alyssa, Carter, Cooper, Devyn, Naomi, Kylah, Maveah, Mickhail and Kynlie, and ex-wife Violet Chilton.
Amos will be sadly missed by his daughters, in-laws, grandchildren & great grandchildren, nieces & nephews, cousins, and a host of many friends & relatives. Visitation: Monday, July 27, 2020, 4 PM – 8 PM at McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Missouri. Funeral: Tuesday, July 28, 2020, 1 PM at McSpadden Funeral Home.
