He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Belt and Edna Belt (Carrendar); and his siblings, Gene Belt, Leon Belt, Bill Belt and Jewell Harris (Belt).

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Belt (Gilpin); his daughter Cheryl Belt of Centertown, MO; and his sister JoAnn (Belt). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Stained Glass Theatre of Mid Missouri or the Centertown Baptist Church.
