He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Freihaut and Cecilia Freihaut; his wife Genevieve Marie; and his great grandchild Tyler Shane Freihaut. He is survived by: his children, Gary Freihaut (Carol), Stephen Freihaut (Pat), Ronald Freihaut and Jerome Freihaut (Diana); his grandchildren, Shane Freihaut, Angel McDowell (David), Joshua Freihaut (Krystal), Jeramey Freihaut (Katrina), Nena VonderHaar (Greg), Adam Freihaut, Justin Best, Jasara Freihaut, John "Buck" Freihaut (Haley), Jamie Frank, Justin Freihaut (Sarah) and Daniel Freihaut; his great grandchildren, Caleb, Dylon, Alexyss, Bryson, Emaleah, Connor, Johnny, Marley, Jurnye, Jaxyon and Justyce; and his siblings, Norman Freihaut and Norbert Freihaut.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Walter's Great-Granddaughter's Recovery Fund for Alexyss McDowell.
